Third Age 3017 (abbreviated to T.A. 3017) is the 3017th year of the Sun of the Third Age of Middle-earth. Third Age 3017 was also known as S.R. 1417 in Shire-reckoning.
Notable events in this year include:
- Gollum is released from Mordor. He is taken by Aragorn in the Dead Marshes, and brought to Thranduil in Mirkwood.[1]
- Gandalf visits Minas Tirith and reads the scroll of Isildur.[1]
- Birth of Alphros, son of Elphir, Prince of Dol Amroth.[2]
- Éomer becomes Third Marshal of the Riddermark.[3]
