The Thornhoth, "People of the Eagles", were the Eagles of Thorndor in the early versions of the legendarium.[1] Thorndor is also called "Lord of the Thornhoth".<ref>J.R.R. Tolkien, Christopher Tolkien (ed.), The Book of Lost Tales Part Two, "III. The Fall of Gondolin", p. 2912.
