Thráin I (ruled 209 years, Third Age 1981 – 2190) was the son of Náin I and King of Durin's folk. His father was slain by a Balrog and the Dwarves of Khazad-dûm driven from the home. Thráin led a portion of his people east to Lonely Mountain, were he became the first King under the Mountain. Among the riches he found there was the fabled Arkenstone. He was succeeded by his son Thorin I.
