The Timeless Halls are the dwelling of Eru, as distinct from the Void. They have existed before and outside the boundaries of the Eä, the created universe, and may or may not have a physical form. Although without limit, they are said to stretch from the Abyss to the Firmament. It is where the Ainur were created and then sang the Song of the Ainur.

Other uses

In Bilbo's Song of Eärendil, the halls of Manwë and Varda are referred to as "The Timeless Halls."

Outside the legendarium

In Átaremma, J.R.R. Tolkien's translation of the Lord's Prayer, he renders "in Heaven" as han Eä, lit. "beyond Creation [the Material Universe]"; this expression replaces the more literal Quenya menel "heaven" which implies the physical sky.
