The Tolkien Calendar 2001 was the official Tolkien calendar published by HarperCollins on 5 June 2000. It features art by John Howe based on The Lord of the Rings, and includes a free poster of the Battle of Pelennor Fields.

The Tolkien Calendar 2001 features 13 brand new paintings from John Howe, creator of the famous ‘Gandalf’ jacket and designer on the forthcoming Lord of the Rings Movie Trilogy . The paintings are all based on Tolkien’s classic masterpiece, The Lord of the Rings and the overall design of this year’s calendar features input from the artist himself.
