Outcome

  • We learnt that the serious server issues will be resolved by migrating the Wiki to a new server with "256mb of dedicated RAM, 10gb of disk space for $10.95 and bandwidth is an additional 22 cents out / 8 cents in."
    • This will happen over the next few weeks.
  • Mithbot was made a bot.
  • Ederchil was made a bureaucrat.
  • The need for more sysops was agreed, possibly two.
    • It was agreed discussions/nominations should be made on the Wiki.
  • Access to the server for more than one user was briefly discussed, but should be revisited in the future.
  • It was agreed that the database lock should be temporary and that Hyarion would look into implementing Captcha software to stop spam from unregistered accounts.
  • It was agreed that a number of extensions should be installed/repaired:
    • Restoration of <inputbox> and Youtube extensions.
    • Google Maps for Arda
    • StringFunctions Extension
    • Who's Online
  • In regards to Projects it was agreed that we should look into taking Projects more seriously, replacing inactive Project Leaders with active contributors.
  • In regards to Barnstars it was agreed we should finally implement a Barnstar system.
  • It was agreed that Mith become Tolkien Gateway's Publicity Manager.
    • The issue of Community Manager needs further discussion.
  • The issue of year pages was clarified. The To-do list meant for a year article to be created for every RL year. All years in Arda with recorded history should be created, years without should not.
  • The meeting was closed and a further meeting will take place when Tolkien Gateway changes servers in a few weeks time.
