How to spot vandalism[edit source]
There are a few ways to spot vandals, including:
- Patrolling Recent Changes
- Patrolling your watchlist
- Checking the edit history of an article
- Checking the user contributions to see if this is consistent behaviour
It is usually the case that vandalism is performed by anonymous editors (shown up as just an IP address), with a new user, or with a username that's clearly false.
Dealing with vandalism[edit source]
You can deal with vandalism in the following ways:
- Undoing the edits
- Reverting the edits (if you're an administrator)
- Deleting created pages/uploaded images
- Contacting an administrator to block the editor
