Verlyn Flieger (24 February 1933) is the Professor in the Department of English at the University of Maryland. She has written several J.R.R. Tolkien-related books. She is also a multiple Mythopoeic Award winner.
With Michael D.C. Drout, Flieger is co-editor of Tolkien Studies: An Annual Scholarly Review.[2] She is also a member of the Board of Academic Advisors for Walking Tree Publishers.[3]
