Windan was a tribe of the Avari.
Etymology
It is an Avarin word meaning "the People". It derives from Primitive Quendian kwendī.[1]
The final -n could be a plural marker, possibly related to the rare plural -n seen in some plural forms of Sindarin[2] (such as elin or conin), and some cases of Quenya (-ion, -essen, -illon)
