Year of the Trees 1090 (abbreviated to Y.T. 1090) is the 1090th year of the Trees in the First Age of Arda. Year of the Trees 1090 was also V.Y. 4590 in Valian Years.
Notable events in this year include:
- After finishing their council, Manwë decides that the Valar shall make war on Melkor.[1]
- Oromë and Tulkas leave the Elves to prepare for war. They send Five Guardians, a group of Maiar, in their stead.[2]
- Over the next two years, the Valar set a guard about Cuiviénen to protect the Elves from battle. The servants of Melkor retreat to Utumno.[1]
