Year of the Trees 1490 (abbreviated to Y.T. 1490) is the 1490th year of the Trees in the First Age of Arda. Year of the Trees 1490 was also V.Y. 4990 in Valian Years.
Notable events in this year include:
- The judgement of Fëanor before the Valar; Melkor's lies are revealed.[1]
- Fëanor sentenced to exile for 12 years[note 1]; Finwë his father goes to exile with him.[1]
- Fingolfin is made the ruler of the Noldor in Tirion.[1]
