Forum:Welcome to the Council forum!
Welcome to the Council forum!
Tolkien Gateway is excited to announce the grand opening of our first forum. I've spent the night installing a new forum script (amongst a few others) which will allow us to converse easier instead of having to use the pesky Community Portal page. You can easily create a new topic by going to the Council forum home and typing in your title in the textbox and hitting enter. You can reply to a post by editing the page and using the standard colon (which creates a tab) or a * for a bullet followed by a reply, etc. What does everyone think? I don't think it is necessary to create forums such as for The Lord of the Rings, etc as we should leave this to the real J.R.R. Tolkien forums out there. Plus we have talk pages for things like that. --Hyarion 01:25, 2 April 2006 (EST)
- Well i welcome everybody to the new forums.--The Great Leader 01:11, 2 April 2006 (Central)
- I think it's a great idea, Hya, and a big improvement on the ongoing discussions @ Tolkien Gateway:Community Portal, which got rather cluttered up, IMO. --Earendilyon 06:19, 2 April 2006 (EDT)
- I'm glad you like it, any suggestions on a better name? Council was the best thing I could think of. Entmoot was another possibility.
- Hm, White Council might be more appropriate. I don't recall the Circle of Doom of the Valar but I will look into that. Thanks for the input. --Hyarion 14:01, 2 April 2006 (EDT)
