The Fellowship of the Ring purists' screenplay is a screenplay written entirely with staying true to J.R.R. Tolkien's text in mind. While Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens chose to deviate rather extremely sometimes with their films, the below text will not. Please discuss ideas on the talk page prior to implementing them.

Since staying true to the book is our main goal, it only makes sense to break the film up into sections, with each section being a chapter. Complications with transitions can be addressed later.
