I am an amateur Tolkienist. I use this incredible website often, so I decided to start contributing. My favorite of the Firstborn of Illúvatar are the penitent Vanyar. My hair is very light blond, though the photo doesn't show it; therefore, I have chosen the name of the High King of the Elves, Ingwe (without the customary umlaut for the purposes of clarity.)

I share Tolkien's belief that The Silmarillion is his most important work, and I study it extensively. I only wish Tolkien had written even more! More about Eru's love for his children; Manwë's righteous dominion and perfect judgment; Varda's indescribable beauty; and the thoughts in the heart of Melkor, mightiest on earth, as he rebelled and fell "down into the void."

The Lord of the Rings is perhaps the greatest saga in contemporary English. Its prosody and descriptive landscapes are almost without compare. As Lewis quite correctly stated, it "satisfi[es] a long thirst." Tolkien is the consummate master of fantasy.
