Just a note[edit source]

They're not "spelling mistakes", they're simply the incorrect variant of spelling. You're right, it should be Commonwealth English. However, we prefer Oxford English, which is the style Tolkien himself generally used. You say that -ize endings are acceptable and should not be changed. I disagree. -ise is the most common spelling here in England. Yes, -ize is tolerated by some but not by my English teachers at school. You are free to revert my changes if you don't like them but I shall continue to change any I come across, along with -or for -our and other Americanisms.
