Amon Anwar (S. amon "hill" + anwar "awe") was the original Sindarin name for the hill known to the Rohirrim as the Halifirien (Roh. halig "holy" + firgen "mountain") because the secret Tomb of Elendil lay there for many centuries.

The last of the beacon-hills of Gondor, it was originally named Eilenaer and stood on the borders of the land of Rohan.
