Aulendil (born in Second Age 213) was the second son and third child of Vardamir Nólimon, the heir of Elros Tar-Minyatur, first King of Númenor. His older brother took up the Sceptre as Tar-Amandil. Almost nothing is known of his life.
Aulendil means "Devoted to Aulë" in Quenya (from -ndil = "friend, lover, devoted to").
