branda in Telerin means "lofty, noble, fine".

Etymology

Primitive Elvish was b'randâ[1], apparently representing an even more primitive adjective *barándâ (stem BARÁD).

branda in Westron means "border, march"[2].

Etymology

Perhaps it comes from a possible Adûnaic *barrad, root BAR.
