Brilthor was one of the six swift rivers that flowed westward from the mountains of the Ered Luin to meet the long course of the Gelion on the borders of Ossiriand.

Etymology

The river's name Brilthor is said to mean "glittering torrent" in Ilkorin, from Bril, "glass, crystal" and thôr, "torrent".
