The Captains of the West were nobles of Gondor and other allied forces that participated to the latter stages of the War of the Ring, namely leading the Army of the West.
These were Gandalf, Aragorn, Éomer, Imrahil and other lords, perhaps including Elladan and Elrohir, and they led the allied Army against the gates of Mordor and the ensuing Battle of the Morannon.
