We are making a weird dicotomy between maps and the book chapters that describe them. I noticed this with The First 'Silmarillion' Map (map) and The First 'Silmarillion' Map, but now the maps of TLOTR are falling in the same problem: The First Map of The Lord of the Rings has the same title as chapter XV of The Treason of Isengard. I think articles on maps should be focused on the chapter summary and then include a section dealing with info from other sources. For example, :File:J.R.R. Tolkien - The First 'Silmarillion' Map.jpg was not included in The Shaping of Middle-earth. --LorenzoCB 09:47, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

:I also thought about whether there should be separate pages for chapters of books in The History of Middle-earth series about maps and about those maps themselves. The titles of the chapters sometimes start with roman numbers, which are unwieldy for the name of a page or are too short and inprecise (e.g. The Second Map, but do not say the Second Map of what). The inclusion about information of those maps from other sources, especially the maps which are not published in the chapter, but on the website of the Tolkien Estate is important, because some readers of Tolkien Gateway may not even know that those maps exist and where they can be viewed. Some maps are not described in The HOME and some noteworthy details of maps are not mentioned in The HOME. Some details ofmthe maps about certain geographical areas or realms could also be included in specific pages for geographical areas or realms in the main or the other versions of the legendarium sections. I am not done with the maps of LOTR. --Akhorahil 11:21, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

For example, File:J.R.R. Tolkien - The First 'Silmarillion' Map.jpg was not included in The Shaping of Middle-earth. --LorenzoCB 09:47, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I also thought about whether there should be separate pages for chapters of books in The History of Middle-earth series about maps and about those maps themselves. --Akhorahil 11:21, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
