dû (or dú[1] is a Sindarin noun meaning "nightfall", "late evening", "night", or "dimness"[2].
Etymology[edit | edit source]
From OS dogme, PQ *doȝmi, root DOȜ; and/or OS *doume, from PQ dōmi from related root DÔ.[3]
It is also associated with ndû.[3]
