Eärrámë, (Q: 'Sea-wing', pron. [e.arˈraːme]) was the great ship of Tuor in which he and Idril sailed into the West. It was a tradition under the Eldar and Edain that they arrived in Valinor, bypassing the Ban of the Valar.[1]
Etymology
Tolkien provides a direct translation for Eärrámë within The Silmarillion: "Sea-Wing".[1] This comes from eär "sea" and rámë "wing".
