Elfwine the Fair was the second King of the Third Line of Rohan, ruling in the early Fourth Age.
History
Elfwine was the son of King Éomer of Rohan and Lothíriel of Dol Amroth.[1] He was said to bear a striking likeness to his maternal grandfather, Imrahil, Prince of Dol Amroth.[2]
Etymology
Elfwine means "Elf-friend" in Old English,[3][4] being a translation of the Quenya name Elendil.[5] Also, it is a reference to the earlier character of Tolkien's legendarium, Ælfwine of England.
