Findis was a Noldorin Elf, the first child and daughter of Finwë, the High King of the Noldor and Indis, his second wife. Findis' name is a combination of the names of her parents.
During the Exile of the Noldor she remained with Indis and her younger brother Finarfin in Valinor, where she apparently dwelt ever since.[1]
Etymology
Her name seems to be a combination of her parents' names and obviously means "hairy woman". See Finwë and Indis.[source?]
