Ranulph Stainer (born in 1936) was a member of the Notion Club.

History

Ranulph Stainer was educated at University College and professionally became an expert in banking and economics. Privately, however, he was devoted to the history and practice of music, and has composed several major and minor works, including one moderately successful opera: Midas.[1]

When Lowdham and Jeremy stormed out of Ramer's rooms during a Great Storm, in which they saw clouds in the shapes of the Eagles[2], Stainer expressed doubts concerning the legitimacy of their actions, claiming that the entire event was staged.[3]
