Rhosgobel was the house of Radagast on the western borders of Mirkwood, said to lie between the Carrock and the Old Forest Road.

Etymology

The name probably means "brown house", referring to its resident; it seems to contain rhosc ("brown")[1] and gobel ("walled house or village, town").[2]
