I'm not very keen on keeping the "inside the legendarium"-tone of this article. Especially the discussion about Elvish ears would benefit from a more academic tone ("It has been argued by...", "In letter X, Tolkien...", etc). Any thoughts? --[[User:Morgan|Morgan]] 19:47, 15 February 2012 (UTC) | |||

I'm writing MA thesis on Tolkien's elves and stuck with the statement:
"Thranduil, father of Legolas and a Sindarin Elf, is described as having blond hair in The Hobbit (...)"
Where in The Hobbit? Could anyone provide a quotation? I've searched the book through and cannot find it... I'd be most greatful for any help, thanks.—Unsigned comment by User:Calilmal (talk • contribs).
- It's "Golden" in "Flies and Spiders":
The feast that they now saw was greater and more magnificent than before; and at the head of a long line of feasters sat a woodland king with a crown of leaves upon his golden hair, very much as Bombur had described the figure in his dream.
In or out[edit source]
I'm not very keen on keeping the "inside the legendarium"-tone of this article. Especially the discussion about Elvish ears would benefit from a more academic tone ("It has been argued by...", "In letter X, Tolkien...", etc). Any thoughts? --Morgan 19:47, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
