What does the content under "synopsis" have to do with the chapter besides a backstory of Tolkien's writing? --DoctorWellington 01:52, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

Indeed, the current text would rather be fitting in our general article about the Fall of Gondolin. Checking the history of the article, the text was added by an anonymous user through a single edit. And searching on Google, the first result shows that the text is an exact copy of Wikipedia's article about the Fall of Gondolin. I will therefore remove the current text under "synopsis".
