The Fair was a title of Celegorm, the third son of Fëanor. In this context, "Fair" can mean either golden-haired, beautiful/handsome, or white in complexion (or both). This has caused confusion as to the color of Celegorm's hair, because there is no record of Vanyarin blood. Ironically, this title was also given to Dior Eluchíl, the elf who killed Celegorm, because of his beautiful features.

This title was a popular one in the legendarium: it was also used of Samwise Gamgee’s daughter, Elanor (because of her golden hair), of Éomer's son Elfwine, and of Hirluin, the lord of Pinnath Gelin.
