- Tarondor, the nephew of Telemnar, becomes the twenty-seventh King of Gondor.[2]
- The White Tree dies in Minas Anor.[1]
- The plague spreads north and west, and many parts of Eriador become desolate. Beyond the Baranduin the Periannath survive, but suffer great loss.[1]
