Third Age 1976 (abbreviated to T.A. 1976) is the 1976th year of the Sun of the Third Age of Middle-earth. Third Age 1976 was also known as S.R. 376 in Shire-reckoning.
Notable events in this year include:
- Aranarth takes the title of Chieftain of the Dúnedain.[1]
- The heirlooms of Arnor (the shards of Narsil and the Sceptre of Annúminas) are given into the keeping of Elrond at Rivendell.[1]
