- 1856 - The wedding of John Benjamin Tolkien and Mary Jane Stow, J.R.R. Tolkien's paternal grandparents.
- 1903 - Actor Norman Shelley is born.
- 1906 - Colin Hardie, Inkling, is born.
- 1972 - J.R.R. Tolkien writes a letter to Miss Fay Darrington.
- 1974 - On the advice of Christopher Tolkien, The Tolkien Society appoints J.R.R. Tolkien as Honorary President in perpetuo.
- 1991 – The second day of the first "Colloquium on the Languages of Middle-earth" at the house of E.L.F. member Bill Welden.
- 1995 - Tyalië Tyelelliéva issue 4 is published.
- 2020 - la BnF's exhibition "Tolkien, voyage en Terre du Milieu" closes.
