From Tolkien Gateway
Noldorin[edit | edit source]
ifant is a Noldorin word meaning "aged, having lived long, old (with no connotation of weakness)". [1][2][3]
Sindarin[edit | edit source]
ifant appears to retain the same meaning and form in Sindarin, as seen in the name Torhir Ifant.[4][5][3]
