What about "Characters in The History of the Lord of the Rings"? I know it can be a mess, as technically all LOTR characters should be included, but only with abandoned characters it would be a full category. --LorenzoCB 11:51, 1 September 2019 (UTC)

Yeah that's messy and I suspect not many normal readers would know what it means either, and think that is historical characters in the story. This is why we have [:Category:Non-canon]. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 07:38, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
