Merge with Lay of Leithian[edit source]

I'm neutral but what do you think about merging this with the Lay of Leithian article? They both seem fairly short at present and we could add the Cantos as a subheading and still be able to link to that section using [[Lay of Leithian#Cantos]]. Also if we were to keep this, should we move it to Cantos of Lay of Leithian or possibly Cantos of the Lay of Leithian? --Hyarion 12:41, 21 April 2006 (EDT)

I don't know why I called it the Lay of the Leithian. Is there any way to change the title?

Done :) --Hyarion 21:13, 21 April 2006 (EDT)
Resurrecting this topic as it seems to me this page is redundant; it should be included within Lay of Leithian or deleted. JR Snow (talk) 15:51, 13 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I think this should be included within The Lay of Leithian and have each article as a summary of the text in The Lays of Beleriand. The Lay within the legendarium does not have specified cantos and its article should not go beyond what is described in the different narratives.

Copyrights[edit source]

Just wondering: is it allowed, copyright-wise, to publish the whole Lay of Leithian word for word? --Earendilyon 05:45, 23 April 2006 (EDT)

I had been wondering the same thing. --Narfil Palùrfalas 07:11, 23 April 2006 (EDT)
Fair Use is not an exact science but I'm hoping as the Lay was published within a larger book and its also available on some other sites that the Tolkien Estate won't mind. It also helps that it's broken up into Cantos and not in one big lump :) --Hyarion 12:12, 23 April 2006 (EDT)
