Ye Chequers Clubbe Binge[note 1] is the title of a printed menu for a five course dinner, for the Chequers Clubbe. J.R.R. Tolkien provided the cover artwork for the menu card. The menu was reprinted in J.R.R. Tolkien: Life and Legend.[1]

- ↑ ye is the conventional spelling for þe "the", as the typographical glyph for y was similar to the letter þ which was unavailable as a glyph. It is intended to be pronounced as the; see here. The title is an example of humorous anachronism.
