Talk:Order of the British Empire

The TG articles for the actors signify them as KBE, however the corresponding Wikipedia articles signify them as CBE. What is the reason of the inconsistency? Sage 11:20, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

CBE = Commander of the British Empire. KBE = Knight Commander of the British Empire. OBE = Officer of the British Empire. They're ranks in the Order. Member, Officer, Commander, Knight/Dame Commander, Knight/Dame Grand Cross. The last two mean you're knighted. --Ederchil ^{(Talk/Contribs/Edits)} 13:16, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

So when TG has Ian Holm as KBE and Wikipedia has Ian Holm as CBE, which is correct? Sage 13:46, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

Ian Holm is only a CBE. He's Sir Ian Holm because he's also Knight Bachelor. So he's a knight, just not in the Order of the British Empire. --Ederchil ^{(Talk/Contribs/Edits)} 13:48, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
