Amon Tirith

Amon Tirith is the Sindarin name of the Hill of Guard, the hill on which Minas Tirith was built.
The name is not mentioned in The Lord of the Rings, but in the Nomenclature of The Lord of the Rings Tolkien reveals that Hill of Guard is a translation to the Common Speech of Amon Tirith (The Lord of the Rings: A Reader's Companion, p. 772).
