Talath Dirnen, the Guarded Plain, was the empty land between Nargothrond and Doriath in Beleriand and belonged to the Realm of Nargothrond. In its eastern part was the lone hill of Amon Rûdh.[2] The plain, although uninhabited, was watched by the scouts and spies of Nargothrond.[3]
