Angelica Baggins was a Hobbit of the Shire.

History[edit | edit source]

Angelica was the daughter of Ponto II, the grand-niece three times removed of Bilbo Baggins.[1] Though her relationship with Bilbo was more distant, she would call him "Uncle Bilbo". She was invited to Bilbo's Farewell Party in T.A. 3001 and received a round convex mirror as a gift because she obviously admired her appearance.[2]

Etymology[edit | edit source]

As many female Hobbit names refer to flowers,[3] Angelica is a genus of plants with medicinal, flavoring, fragrant and medicinal properties.

Portrayal in adaptations[edit | edit source]

2002: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (video game):

Angelica walks around in Bywater. She is sad to see Frodo leave and complains that he is going "practically to the other end of the world" (meaning Crickhollow) unaware how right she is.
