[edit] Etymology

Hiril means "lady" in Sindarin (Hîr + -il).

[edit] Other Versions of the Legendarium

In an earlier version Hiril was the daughter of Barahir and Emeldir, and the younger sister of Beren, but this was later dropped.[2]
