Hummerhorns were a legendary race of winged insects mentioned only in Hobbit verse. The hummerhorns were said to have battled a knight on a quest.[1]

Portrayal in adaptations[edit | edit source]

Middle-earth Role Playing:

Hummerhorns, described and given statistics in various supplements, are portrayed as aggressive creatures, weighing 6-8 lbs and resembling gigantic black and grey wasps.[2][3][4]
