Rochon Methestel

From Tolkien Gateway

Rochon Methestel was the name of a song that was made about Borondir Udalraph, who was sent out to seek the aid of the Éothéod by his Steward Cirion. He came back with the troops of Eorl, but did not survive the Battle of the Field of Celebrant.[1]

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Rochon Methestel is Sindarin for "Rider of the Last Hope",[1] from the elements rochben ("rider") + meth ("last") + estel ("hope, trust").[2]
