The Elvenking's Gate is an illustration by J.R.R. Tolkien. It was originally published in the first edition of The Hobbit alongside Chapter 9, Barrels Out of Bond. A coloured version was prepared by H.E. Riddett for The Hobbit Calendar 1976.
