Yávien was the only daughter and oldest child of Nolondil, the brother of Tar-Amandil, King of Númenor. Almost nothing is known of her life.[1]

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Yávien is a Quenya name. Its meaning is not glossed, but Paul Strack suggests it is a compound of yávë ("fruit") and the feminine suffix ien (feminine ending, feminine patronymic, "-daughter").[2]
