Adam Reuel Tolkien (born 13 March 1969) is the son of Christopher Tolkien, brother to Rachel Tolkien and half brother to Simon Tolkien. He is a lighting engineer by profession, but has also translated into French several works of his grandfather: Pictures by J.R.R. Tolkien (1994), The Book of Lost Tales Part One (1995), and The Book of Lost Tales Part Two (1998). In the preface to The Children of Húrin he is also credited as having helped his father edit his grandfather's notes. On the Tolkien Estate website, he is also credited: 'The original idea of the website, its structure, its organization, and its content was conceived by Adam Tolkien. He coordinated the project...' In November 2019 he delivered a conference in relation to the exhibition 'Tolkien : Voyage en Terre du Milieu' at the Bibliotheque nationale de France.
