Upload frenzy[edit source]

A kind request: only upload images you need in articles. We already have maps of Aman, images of the Flaming Eye, the Lord of the Nazgul and Maps of that part of Beleriand, while the Dorthonion image looks suspiciously much like a photograph of something else entirely. Read the image policy. -- Ederchil (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 14:33, 18 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Page creating[edit source]

Hello Glaurung. Good intention with creating the page North Germanic languages! However, a few things to think about for future creations:

  • Don't just copy so much text from Wikipedia. It's better use a short introduction (which may be a direct copy, or better, rewritten in other words) and then link to Wikipedia. You can do this by adding {{WP|[Page name]}} when editing the page. In this case it would be {{WP|North Germanic languages}}. Remember that the info on Wikipedia constantly changes!
  • Always try to describe the relation between the subject of the page and J.R.R. Tolkien.
  • When creating a new page, look on a similar page first, to get an idea of what a page generally look like. Then you will likely, for example, find a suitable category for the page (which, in this case, would be [[Category:Languages (real-world)]], a code line you add to the bottom of the page.

Good look with future editing!--Morgan 16:37, 26 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I favour deletion on NGL. It's not really a necessary page; a link to wikipedia would suffice. -- Ederchil (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 16:49, 26 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Me too ;-) But the Old Norse page was necessary to create, sooner or later! --Morgan 16:50, 26 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
On a third(?) thought, perhaps we should keep North Germanic, as JRRT talks about Scandinavian in relation to his legendarium. --Morgan 17:16, 28 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
